I heard my 3-year-old daughter yell, “Baba, baba.” She is calling for me (baba is dad in Turkish- my wife is from Istanbul originally and teaches her Turkish). I looked at my phone and saw the time: 4:45 a.m.
After a minute of trying to wake myself from a dead sleep, I got out of bed and went to her room to see what she wanted. She was thirsty and wanted milk.
So, I carried her downstairs and poured her a glass of milk. She drank it and quickly fell back asleep in my arms.
After putting her back to bed, I looked at my phone again and saw the time: 5 a.m. What should I do? Should I try to go back to bed and sleep another hour? Usually, once I am awake at that point, I do not fall back to sleep for a while, making it almost useless to try.
Plus, I was excited to have extra time to work on my online business while everyone else was sleeping! I enjoy making content, writing posts, exploring, learning, testing, and progressing. Every day feels like a new adventure, and my excitement this morning led me to make coffee and start working on my business.
This is one of the most significant aspects of an online business, affiliate marketing, or making money online. It provides a lot of freedom to work when I want to, whether at 5 a.m., 5 p.m., or any other time. There is no 9-5 type of structure like in most regular jobs. It works so well for people who have kids or do it as a side hustle or hobby (like me).
My online business does not have a brick-and-mortar store where I need to be there to unlock the door and then lock it up later in the day. It is open 24 hours a day, and I work on it whenever it fits my schedule. The flexibility is one of the biggest attractions that made me want to do this in the first place.
