How I Track Results

In this post, I want to explain a little bit about the tracking I do and the reasons why.

In the stage 1 traffic generation, I am writing posts and answering questions on Quora. Quora is a forum based on people asking and answering questions, although people can write posts and create groups. It is a good platform with lots of people, and it is easy to use.

On this platform, I answer questions about affiliate marketing, making money online, and online side hustles or jobs. I have experience with all of these and answer the questions that I feel I can provide some value.

I also write posts about ideas and strategies with affiliate marketing and marketing/sales in general.

Here are some of the things I track in my posts and answers:

  1. Number of views- Quora makes this easy by providing the number of views for every post or answer.
  2. The number of clicks for the links I put in the posts. Last month, I tested different links to determine which links people were clicking on. It is still too early for me to come out with a solid understanding of how clickable the links are.
  3. Number of upvotes—Quora has a concept called upvoting, where if someone likes an answer I write, it can be upvoted. This is similar to a like on other social media platforms. Upvotes tend to get a lot more views.
  4. Number of comments—Quora allows people to comment on posts and answers to questions. Sometimes, a comment can help get more views. Or, sometimes, the comments are not helpful in terms of getting extra traffic. But if someone leaves a comment, this could gauge whether what I post is useful or valuable.

My goal in April is to write 20 posts and answer 20 questions. I will put links to my blog or my opt-in page in most of the posts and keep track of clicks.

All I can do is try to help people and provide good content. The results will be in the numbers at the end of the month. I’ll give periodic updates on this as the month moves along.
