May was an interesting month.
Yesterday, I spent a few hours reviewing my May tracking numbers and trying to paint a picture of the good and bad.
Here are my 3 top takeaways from May:
- My strategy on Quora to get more views on my posts worked. I had 5x more views in May than in April. As a side note, this strategy (I talked about this in a few previous posts last week) isn’t working anymore, so I’m working on another strategy now.
- I had more clicks on my links to the Holland’s Iceberg Method free product offer and other products from my blog than from links in Quora posts. This tells me that driving traffic (or audience) from Quora to my blog/website is valuable. I should focus on doing this more in June.
- I got more views on my blog posts, which is cool.
Overall, there were many positives. However, I didn’t make any money. Also, I fell short of posting five posts on Quora and my blog each week.
I am okay with not making money since my main business strategy is to build credibility and create value for my audience by continuing to post good content.
Once I have a huge catalog of content, it’ll be impressive and attractive to others and help make this website a one-stop shop for building an online business.
I plan to use ads later once my organic strategies generate revenue. For now, I want to post lots of content and make my blog great.
Ultimately, I hope to grow based on what I have learned and have an even better June. I’ll get back to you with the results once the month is done!
