Quora Post Test

If I have not mentioned this before, I have not been on social media much until recently because of my online business. It just hasn’t been something I find much value in, but for business, especially an online business, it is a critical tool for building an audience and getting leads.

As such, one social media app I have been primarily using is Quora. If you do not know, Quora is a question-and-answer platform where people post questions to find answers for any topic. People can also post written content of any type. Other components, like spaces, which are like groups, focus on specific issues or topics that people can follow.

When writing posts, I usually write a general post that Quora broadcasts in some way. I have no idea how the system does it, but I get views from other people on those posts.

However, recently, I researched how to write a post on a ‘space’ so that it is broadcasted in that group, too. Many spaces require an admin to accept posts so that they can show up on the space’s feed.

I tested this out last week, and one of my posts was accepted. The number of views was about 2-3 times more than the same post I did as a general post on the same day. It seems to be helpful to post on these spaces. As a result, I will work on getting my posts on a handful more spaces.

The central exciting concept is that if I can make one post and broadcast it on 5-10 spaces, the number of views could be 5-10 times more than if I send a general post. With this many views, I hope to see a more substantial number in ‘traffic’, aka people who visit my profile on Quora and blog. If this helps me build a bigger audience and enables more people to look at my content, eventually, people will want more and take advantage of the training I have for free and other products. This would be a great result.

I mention that I did not use social media much in the past because I almost felt like I should have realized that I should be posting on spaces right from the beginning. However, I didn’t; it has taken me months to figure this out.

Anyway, I’ll try this for the next 1-2 weeks and report back with more thoughts.
