A.I.- Friend of Foe?

A few years ago, AI became a hot topic.

Everyone was talking about how AI was going to be revolutionary. It was going to do everything for us.

The concept of AI sounded amazing. AI software could write all our emails, blog posts, and social media posts, answer all of our questions, and much more.

Some of this came true. It can write content for us. It can answer a lot of questions, sometimes pretty accurately.

It seemed like a true friend at the time.

However, now that time has passed, people are also discovering that it can be a foe.

Some social media apps now have AI software to find contributors who use too much AI to create content. They penalize some creators for using AI because it’s not genuine, it’s not authentic, and the information is robotized.

I’ve also heard people complain about getting emails generated by AI. I’ve talked to some people who said they can easily tell when an email was written by AI rather than a human.

What’s the problem with this?

Well, it loses its humanity, I suppose.

It becomes robotized, meaning it is written in a certain way that a regular human would probably not write or express.

As such, it’s inauthentic.

And then on social media, people get in trouble for using AI too much.

It’s interesting how the use of AI has changed.

At first, it was viewed as a complete replacement for our time creating content. There was a lot of excitement in the air.

Now, the tides have turned. People are not finding A.I.-generated content as valuable as content made by a real person.

However, AI is not totally a foe.

It does help in many situations.

It can help us with ideas about what kind of content to make. Especially when we humans get stuck coming up with content ideas.

It can be used to check grammar and help us write better.

So, what I’ve been discovering is that AI is a support tool.

It’s not meant to replace us, at least at this point.

It’s a tool in our toolbox. It’s another arrow in our quiver.

I sometimes use AI. If I’m writing an email and need a headline, I can input some information into an AI-generated email headline software and have it come up with 5-10 different headlines.

I find that one or two headlines are outstanding, and then I’ll use a phrase from them and incorporate it into my headline. I customize it so that it has elements of my own ideas and thoughts, and is not totally AI-generated.

Using AI is a good idea, but not to replace what we humans make completely.

Whether creating a product offer, making a social media post, or writing an email, AI can improve it by serving as an aid and support system.

But it’s essential to still use our voices and ideas to personalize it. It’s what makes it different from everyone else’s content. I want to keep this in mind, and I think it’s good advice for others, too.

What will the future hold? I don’t know!

How do you see AI- a friend or foe?
