Happy New Year!
December is all done, so it’s time to review the results and develop some assumptions to help me make tweaks and changes to increase results in future months.
Here are the main concepts:
- In December, I posted less than usual on Quora because I used the new Social Media Viral Video formula to create new hooks, buildups, content, and calls to action. It took extra time to do this, so I didn’t get a chance to post as many times. I was most curious whether using the formula increased the average number of views. When I looked at the average number of posts in November (not using the formula) and December (using the formula), I calculated the difference in the average views. Here’s the calculation:
- In November, my posts had an average of 94 views; in December, my posts had an average of 279 views. This means the December views had roughly a 197% increase in views! The main difference is that I used the formula. This is pretty fantastic. I was most curious whether using the formula increased each post’s average number of views. Will this continue? I’ll find out!
- While the formula helped increase the number of views per post, there was no significant increase in the number of upvotes (likes), comments, or new followers. These numbers were about the same as before, with a slight increase in the average number of upvotes.
- I had 0 new subscribers to my email list from my lead magnet in December. I was redoing my lead magnet all month, so I didn’t use the lead magnet as a call to action in any Quora or blog post. I also removed the old lead magnet’s URL on some older Quora posts. Last month (November), 67% of those who opted in came from Quora posts. So, I’m not totally surprised with 0 opt-ins in December. I’m almost done with the new lead magnet, and I will begin using it as a call to action in posts and have it available on my blog as a banner and in the blog store.
- No money made! It was a slow month with product link clicks too, as there were fewer clicks on links than usual. I have more interest when I include some product links in the call to action in social media posts or through emails. However, I did not put product links in any Quora posts this month, and one via email.
- I sent two emails to my fans in my email newsletter. My goal is 5-10 a month. I had limited time to do anything outside the social media post revisions, as my other business was hectic and took up most of my time. The busy time of year is over, so this will change starting in January.
Now that the new month (and new year) has started, I can refocus on increasing time and attention to all the focal points of my business here: traffic generation, offering my new lead magnet, increasing subscribers on my email newsletter list, and sending product offers!
