October Projects to Build the Online Business

Periodically, I like to write a blog post about what I’m doing to improve my online business.

This week, I am working on the following:

  1. I added more products to my ‘store’ page and two more banners with product offers appearing on my blog posts when someone reads them. This is part of the monetization aspect of an online business. When someone visits my blog website, they will see product offers in three places. There are ‘banners’ for products visible on all website pages- home page, blog pages, and everywhere else. Banners are pictures or visual ad types that you can put on a header, footer, or sidebar for all web pages or select pages. If someone is interested in the offer, they click the banner picture, and it takes them to another webpage with product information and a purchase option. The third place to find products is on my ‘store’ page, which I call the Tools to Help You Make Money Online page. More products are on the store page, whereas only three are seen as banners on the other pages. I will track these to see what gets more traffic- the banners or the store page!
  2. Update my tracking sheet. Tracking various trackable things is vital for seeing what is working and what is not, especially after making a change somewhere. For example, if I add a new product to my store page, I can track how many people click the link regularly. I can track it daily, weekly, or monthly, depending on what is best. If there are no clicks after a few months, no one is interested in the product. If there are many clicks, it tells me there is interest, and perhaps I should promote it more.
    • One challenging aspect of tracking is figuring out what to track and how often to track it, then going through the tracking software and recording it somewhere, such as on an Excel spreadsheet.
      • Here is what I am doing for tracking. I record the numbers on an Excel spreadsheet and make a new tab for each month of the year.
        • I track how many social media, blog posts, and emails I send daily.
        • I track the number of clicks on my products monthly. Once I get more traffic to these products, tracking it daily or weekly might be better. For now, monthly is fine.
  3. I will continue posting on a social media platform, Quora, to get organic traffic and build followers, an audience, and traffic to my blog and products.
    • I’ve been working on maximizing the efficiency of these posts since they are the primary driver of traffic to my assets. This is an ongoing process of trying new methods, seeing what works, making adjustments, and trying more. I’ll post separately with any ideas I get from trial and error.
    • Driving traffic is essential to growing an online business, as this is where my audience comes from. It is the most critical thing I can do right now, so I must remember to stay focused.
    • Last week, I participated in a weekly marketing training call with my mentor from Internet Profits, Dean Holland, who told me about his TikTok views on his account. The numbers were staggering- tens of thousands and even millions of views (one video he posted had over 2 million views). He has training videos on how to structure social media posts, so another task is for me to review the training to see how he structures his posts. Then, I will see what I am doing (and not doing) to improve my posts. I plan to share this insight in a future blog post after completing the training. By the way, if you are interested in getting high-level training and mentorship, I highly recommend the Internet Profits program called the Accelerator Program, which I am a part of. Check it out if you like!
