It can be hard to continue something when you experience setbacks, headwinds, and struggles from not getting the desired results.
I have been in this situation (more than once), so I know the pain.
Ask yourself why you are trying to build a business. Some reasons may include:
- Be able to make extra money to pay your bills
- Go on more vacations
- Provide a better life for your family
- Work from anywhere in the world
- Be your own boss
- Move to a different state or country without impacting your income
- Work whenever you want and create your own schedule
- Turn a passion or hobby of yours into a source of income
- Build a business and an asset that no one can take away from you
Knowing WHY you are doing it helps keep you going when things are hard.
Then, follow the 4 core areas of focus relentlessly to grow and build your business:
1. Drive traffic– decide on one traffic method, such as one social media app or paid advertising platform, and stay with it. It is easy to jump ship when it gets hard and try another method. The reality is they can all be hard at first. Stay with one method and master it.
2. Capture traffic-one way to capture traffic, aka leads, is to have them follow you on social media, but an even better way is to capture their email addresses to build an email list.
3. Follow up with your audience– once you have an email list of leads or an audience of followers, ensure you follow up with them. Share your story, experiences, what you are doing today, and what is on your mind. Build a relationship with them so they know, like, and trust you.
4. Make offers– this is where you start monetizing your affiliate business. Send appropriate product offers to your list or audience. Provide personal insight and product reviews to help your audience make purchase decisions.
Making money online can be difficult. There are many nuisances, tons of information, seemingly endless methods, strategies, and other things that make it feel like you are not on the right path.
One great feature of online businesses is that there are many ways to make money online, with social media apps, blogging, paid advertising, and other tools. However, this can also be a bad thing since there are so many choices.
