Why Doing More Isn’t Growing Your Online Side Hustle

For a long time, I thought the answer was simple.

If I wanted better results, I just needed to do more.

More time. More effort. More attempts. Just keep doing the reps, and results will eventually come.

And for a while, that felt right.

Because when something isn’t working, the natural instinct is to increase effort. It feels productive. It feels like progress.

But over time, I started noticing something that didn’t quite make sense.

No matter how much more I did, the outcome didn’t really change.

That’s when I started to realize something:

The issue wasn’t how much I was doing. It was what I was doing first.

There’s a difference between effort and direction.

Was the first thing I needed to do optimized? Was it being done correctly? Or was I doing it wrong, and the bottleneck occurs later?

This is what I discovered:

If the starting point is off, even slightly, more effort doesn’t fix it. It just reinforces the same result.

That’s why it can feel like you’re working toward something… but not actually getting closer to it.

It’s not always obvious when that’s happening, either.

Because effort hides the problem.

It gives you the feeling that you’re moving forward, even when the underlying structure isn’t there yet.

And that’s the part I didn’t understand for a long time.

Where This Starts to Shift

Once I stopped asking “how can I do more?” and started asking “what actually needs to work first?” things began to look very different.

Not easier, but much clearer.

And clarity changes everything.

If This Feels Familiar

This is something I’ve been breaking down more as I build this out.

If you want to see how I started approaching this differently, I put together some videos that reveal the actual structure for how total beginners can start making money online in as little as one hour a day (the same structure I use):
