As I think about building my email list for the Exclusive BusinessBuildingOnline.com Money Club newsletter, I am trying to decide how many emails per week are appropriate to send.
There are supposedly some new email rules coming out soon by Google, Yahoo, and other email providers aimed at improving user’s experience.
Email providers want to begin preventing spam emails and unwanted emails from entering users’ inboxes. I don’t know how they are going to do this because I get emails from so many companies now that this is going to potentially impact everyone.
When I send out emails to people, the email providers will rate my emails in terms of how people are interacting with them. Are people opening the emails (aka is the open rate low or high)? Are they engaging and reading the emails? Or are too many people clicking the spam button which tells the email providers they do not like my emails and never want to receive any again?
If my email ratings are bad enough, the email providers will start blocking my emails from being delivered to user’s inboxes. Fewer people will get my emails which makes it difficult for me to reach my audience.
If I send too many emails, then most likely the open rates will be lower than if I send fewer emails, and there is a higher possibility that people get annoyed and complain.
So, I’m considering how I want to approach sending emails. How much is too many, and how many is too few?
I have no idea! This is an area I want to explore further to get some more insight into what other marketers are doing as we enter this new rating system brought on by the email providers.
See you next time.
