Welcome to Social Media Viral Video Formula Part 4: The Action
Part 4 is all about giving a call to action in your video or post.
What do you want viewers to do after watching your video or reading your post?
Give them some type of Call to Action.
This is a critical ingredient in getting a particular result from posting content.
I was always timid about doing this in the past.
However, as I learned more about marketing and saw what others do, I realized every savvy social media person and marketer does it. It’s part of the game.
It is something to embrace and have fun with instead of something to be concerned about or scared of.
There is a marketing concept called Direct Response Marketing. You ask viewers to give a direct response.
Usually, in marketing, a direct response action step is to subscribe to an email list to get a free lead magnet, watch a promotional video, or buy a product.
With social media, there are many other action steps available.
Some action steps you can give in your posts include:
- Click a link (that leads to one of your assets, such as your website, blog, treeline page, affiliate link, etc.).
- Like your video or post
- Follow or subscribe to your account or channel
- Leave a comment
- Share the post with a friend
You can say, “Thanks for watching. If you found this video helpful, click the “like” button.” Or, “If you like (insert topic—bonsai trees, affiliate marketing, gardening, etc.), then follow my channel to see more content like this.”
It’s pretty simple. You can customize the call to action based on your opinion of the next best step.
The call to action is important because fewer people will take action if you do not have a call to action.
If you ask people to follow you or subscribe to your channel or account, more people will do it.
If you ask people to click a link to read a blog post you made with more content they will like, more of them will click the link.
Think about what your main goal is. Do you want to build a following? Ask people to follow you in more of your videos or posts.
Do you want to sell more products? Ask people to click a link to check out a product that will help them.
I usually mix it up. If the content is product-related, I usually include a call to action to click a link to check out a product.
If the content is educational, I usually ask people to follow me or leave a comment so that I can send them an educational video with more helpful content.
So, I typically customize the call to action to what type of content I’m providing.
There you have it, the 4 Parts of a piece of content, whether it’s a video, written or audio post, to increase your views.
Remember, the more views you get, the more people notice you, the more they learn, the more followers you get, the more people will see your other content and assets, and the more people will see the products you offer. This will help maximize your profits!
